Are You Ready? What is Your Plan?

September 22, 2010

Check out the answers from the Big Dawgs.  Anonymous answers, you can comment who you think would say such a thing.

“I’m ready and skiing really good!  I’ve finally got zo figured out behind the 2010. It’s not as strong as the 07 to 09’s. I’m back in the game!  Cya Friday”

“My plan…To ski better than I did in california, fell @ 38 I will be ready looking forward to it!”

I am not going to motivate my competition by saying anything big and bad .   I just want to really win .

Matt Brown Wins Colorado

August 29, 2010

A newcomer to the O’brien Big Dawg Series battled his way to the top of the dawg food chain.  Matt Brown, brother of Marcus Brown, wins the second qualifier with 4 at 39 after Todd Johnson went out first and scored 3.5 at 39.  3rd place goes to Scott Larson and Chet Raley in 4th.

We will soon have stats, but the final 4 all ran 39 to get there.

Thanks to all the tournament sponsors, supporters, officials and organizers who take the time and effort to make this water skier series one of the best.

Please take a moment to thank some special people or make a nice comment.  If you have any good news to add, please do.

Qualifying rounds complete

August 29, 2010

The big dawgs of Colorado had their day in the sun as well as a higher altitude. Watching the informal webcast was a nice addition to the prelim day with commentary and fans in the chat room.

There were some surprises with who stayed up and who went down. You can check out the twitter feed for the recap of scores.

The results and brackets from day one will be posted as soon as received and I hear the sweet 16 start at 10am MST. But i will have to confirm that time.

If anyone has any nice comments or additional info please bark up. All comments are monitored.

Good luck to all today!
Laurie

Laku Site Report

August 26, 2010
Laku is ready for you

Temps are expected to be approx 90 and sunny this weekend. We have very low humidity. The water temp will vary from 78 to 86 from morning to afternoon.  We typically have very little wind. Short bursts of afternoon thunderstorms and winds can blow through, but none are forecasted for this weekend, so we’ll keep our fingers crossed!  Over 5000 trees were planted when the site was built 20 years ago so we are well protected with large trees.  Mornings and evenings can be cooler, so bring a jacket for the evening BBQ.  We have a nice shady lawn for spectators to watch the action.  Bring snacks and drinks for the day.  We are at an elevation of approximately 5000 ft, so drink a lot of water to stay hydrated which will help avoid altitude sickness if you are coming from sea level.

Our site is within a few miles of the town of Windsor, which is a quaint small town of about 17,000 people.  There are 2 major grocery stores as well as some great restaurants.  For Mexican, we like Guadalajara; The Egg And I has fantastic breakfasts. There are also many fast food places in town. Within 10miles, in the Centura Mall near I-25 and Hwy 34 are many chain restaurants like Bonefish Grill, PF Changs, On The Border, and Red Robin

Here is the Preliminary Running Order
